Free X-Ray inputs

The free X-Ray performs its calculations in your browser. The rateable values, floor area and comparator figures you enter are not sent to a Rates X-Ray server by the tool. A copy of your most recent result may be stored in that browser’s local storage so it can be recovered on the post-payment page.

Payments

The £49 Evidence Pack checkout is processed by Square. Rates X-Ray does not receive or store your full card details. Square processes payment and order information under its own privacy terms. We receive the information Square makes available to the seller so that we can identify and fulfil your order.

Evidence Pack fulfilment

To prepare a paid Evidence Pack we may receive your business contact details, property address, Square order reference, X-Ray summary, public rating information, correspondence about the case and documents you choose to provide. We use this information to perform the service you purchased and to communicate with you about the order.

Please avoid sending personal or commercially sensitive material that is not necessary for the business-rates review.

Lawful basis

We process order and case information because it is necessary to perform the contract for the Evidence Pack. We process general enquiries and basic service-security information where necessary for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service. We may retain transaction information where required by law.

Retention

Working Evidence Pack material is normally deleted or anonymised within 12 months after the pack is delivered, unless it is still needed to resolve a query, complaint or dispute. Payment and accounting records may be kept for longer where law or normal business-record requirements require it.

Who receives information?

Square receives payment information. Zoho provides the mailbox used for customer communication. Public rating/property sources may be consulted when preparing an Evidence Pack. We do not sell customer information.

Analytics and cookies

The launch build does not include a third-party behavioural analytics package. The free tool uses browser local storage to remember the most recent X-Ray on that device. If analytics or additional cookies are introduced, this notice and the site’s consent handling will be updated first.

For access, correction, deletion or other privacy questions, email hello@ratesxray.co.uk. Some information may need to be retained where there is a legal or contractual reason to do so.
